In addition to saving energy and money, T8 fluorescent lighting provides better quality light. HID fixtures use up to 215 watts per fixture to cast light with a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 65. T8 fluorescent lighting, by comparison, supplies light with a CRI greater than 80 while using only 74 watts. T8 fluorescent lamps last longer than HID and are cheaper to replace.
